Past

Our roots go back to 1911 when CTS Telecom was founded as the Climax Farmers Telephone Co-op. In 1949, it was purchased by the Collver family who remained true to the company’s mission of providing local telephone service solely to businesses and residents in Climax. The passage of the Federal Telecommunications Act in 1996 permitted competition in both local and long distance telephone services and CTS Telecom was able to expand its business footprint. One year later, the company was licensed by the Michigan Public Service Commission to provide local telephone service in Battle Creek, Galesburg, Kalamazoo, and Scotts. CTS Telecom was one of the first in the state to offer fiber to the premise.

Present

The main ingredient in CTS Telecom’s recipe for success is fiber and lots of it. We have an ever-growing fiber network, and unlike other companies with similar services, we build to each customer’s requirements.

Each morning at 8 a.m., every CTS Telecom employee gathers in a conference room where we talk about what customers we are going to work with that day, any troubles that need to be addressed, and how we can improve the customer’s experience. By sharing ideas, we save our clients time and money. You will see our Communications Consultants out and about in the community because we prefer to come out and see what you do in order to give you exactly what you need. We do all of that while providing the best customer service around.

With the industry anticipating escalating internet traffic, CTS Telecom is equipped to meet the demand for secure and robust data transportation. We are continuously making modifications and improvements to our facilities and network, thus setting ourselves up for greater capabilities in the future.
