What is ADSL Internet?
Short for asymmetric digital subscriber line, a new technology that allows more data to be sent over existing copper telephone lines (POTS).  ADSL supports data rates of from 1.5 to 9 Mbps when receiving data (Known as the downstream rate) and from 16 to 640 Kbps when sending data (known as the upstream rate).      back to top--

 What is a PRI?
Short for Primary-Rate Interface, a type of ISDN service designed for larger organizations.  PRI includes 23 B-channels and one D-channel.  The Primary Rate Interface is a multiple channel voice path delivered over a T-1 circuit to provide multiple voice paths to your phone system, as well as DID numbers (Direct Inward Dial).      back to top--

What is VoIP?
Short for Voice over Internet Protocol, a category of hardware and software that enables people to use the Internet as the transmission medium for telephone calls by sending voice data in packets using IP rather than by traditional circuit transmissions of the PSTN.  One advantage of VoIP is that the telephone calls over the internet do not incur surcharge beyond what the user is paying for Internet access, much in the same way that the user doesn't pay for sending individual e-mail over the internet.      back to top--

Can my company get connected to your fiber services?
CTS has an extensive fiber network through out Battle Creek and Kalamazoo and in most cases we can make a connection to your company.  What we need the customer to do is to call our office 269 746-4411 and talk to one of the sales people. The information we need is mainly the address of the location where you would like the fiber services and a contact at the location. One of the CTS engineers will then make a site visit to look over the facilities and then pass the information and the timeframe that the project can be done in to the sales person.  The CTS Sales person will then come back to you with the pricing and details as to when the service can be installed.      back to top--

How fast is the fiber services?
The Metro E service is a 10 MEG bi-directional internet connection, with optional speeds of up to 45 MEG available.  It is billed on the actual usage by looking at the total number of packets sent over 24 hours a day 30 days a month.  Please contact one of the CTS Sales Team 269 746-4411 to discuss the amount of usage you company may need.  We have over 200 customers on the system so we can give you a very good estimate of your usage by just discussing how your company uses the internet.      back to top--
